This is my very first blog post–EVER! I’m really looking forward to this new adventure of sharing more about myself, my family and the wonderful people I get to meet and photograph! I am just going to put it all out there and hope to learn more about you too.
I think the best way to start anything is with an introduction so here goes….
I am a full time wedding and portrait photographer living in Southern New Hampshire with my husband Doug and our three beautiful boys. Asa is 6 years old, Finley is 4 and Atticus (Atti) is 22 months. I grew up in a family of six kids and are very close with my siblings and parents. You will most likely here lots about my family on this blog. They are everything to me. My mom (Nadine) is my second shooter and her warm, generous spirit is unmatched by anyone I have ever met. We make such a great team at weddings!
I went to The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and studied fine art photography. I actually shot commercial food photography after school and worked with some wonderful people and big studios before discovering that the beauty and energy of weddings was a great fit for me. My shooting style has been influenced by all these experiences.
After college, Doug (a Chicago native) and I embarked on an adventure together. We packed up our two cats and dog (Bookah) and moved to Seattle. I had never even been there!!! It just seemed like a good thing to do. We had nothing but a trailer full of stuff and each other. It was an incredible experience and we ended up living there for four years. We made some great friends and learned A LOT! When Doug proposed to me we decided it would be a good idea to move back east closer to our families. In the end we decided on New Hampshire where my parents are. So, here we are, living in rural New Hampshire, and loving it. Well, not the black flies, mosquitoes, or frost heaves. But everything else is good.
I will post more about my life and the people in it but for now, here is a picture of me that my mom took at one of our weddings.
Now I’m looking forward to THIS new adventure of being a blogger and documenting our life. It sure does move fast and my kids seem to be growing at warp speed. Here they are…
