Every fall, I look forward to returning to Colorado for one of my favorite traditions—Denver fall mini sessions!

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph so many wonderful families in Colorado, and I love getting to see familiar faces each fall. Watching families grow from year to year is one of my favorite parts of what I do.

This October, I’ll be back in the Denver area for a limited number of 20-minute fall portrait sessions at three beautiful locations: Clear Creek History Park in Golden, Majestic View Park in Arvada, and Red Rocks.

Each session is $300 and includes an online gallery and 10 high-resolution digital images of your choice.

Saturday, October 10 | Clear Creek History Park, Golden

Clear Creek has become one of my favorite Colorado locations for family photographs. The historic buildings, open fields, mountain scenery, and beautiful natural surroundings give us plenty of variety—even during a short session.

It’s a wonderful choice if you love photographs that feel relaxed, natural, and distinctly Colorado.

Saturday, October 10 | Majestic View Park, Arvada

Majestic View is another location I return to year after year. Its open fields, mountain views, and beautiful late-afternoon light make it especially lovely for fall family portraits.

The simplicity of the landscape also keeps the focus on your family and gives us room for kids to move, play, and be themselves.

Sunday, October 11 | Red Rocks

I’m especially excited to offer Red Rocks mini sessions this year.

The dramatic red rock formations, open skies, warm colors, and beautiful evening light will give these sessions a slightly different feel from my other Denver locations. If you want photographs with an unmistakably Colorado backdrop, this is the session I’d choose.

We’ll be photographing away from the main amphitheater area so the focus can stay on your family and the beautiful natural landscape.

What Is Included in Your Denver Mini Session?

Each Denver fall mini session is $300 and includes:

• 20-minute portrait session
• Online gallery of your finished images
• 10 high-resolution digital files of your choice
• Option to purchase additional photographs or your complete gallery

Twenty minutes may sound quick, but it’s actually a wonderful amount of time for family photographs—especially with young children.

We’ll create a mix of classic family portraits, photographs of the kids, different family combinations, and the natural, in-between moments that often become my favorites.

And you definitely don’t need children who are perfect at posing!

My approach is relaxed and playful, with plenty of movement and interaction. The goal is for your photographs to feel like your family, rather than a collection of stiff poses.

One of the things I love most about returning to Colorado each year is seeing familiar families again. Many of the new families I photograph have also found me because a past client shared my work with a friend.

What Should We Wear for Fall Family Photos?

Once you book, I’m always happy to help with wardrobe ideas.

In general, I recommend choosing clothing that coordinates rather than matches. Soft neutrals, warm earth tones, denim, creams, muted blues, browns, soft greens, and subtle patterns all photograph beautifully against Colorado’s fall landscape.

Layers and texture are also wonderful for fall and can add interest without making your photographs feel overly styled.

Most importantly, I want everyone to feel comfortable and like themselves.

An Annual Colorado Tradition

Although I’m based in New Hampshire, Colorado has become such a special part of my photography calendar. I love returning each year, reconnecting with families I’ve photographed before, and meeting new ones along the way.

My photography style is natural, light-filled, and connection-focused. My goal isn’t simply to create the annual photograph where everyone is looking at the camera.

I want to give you photographs that capture your children’s personalities, the way your family interacts, and this particular season of your lives.

Because somehow, every year, the kids are a little taller.
