There is something so special about private home weddings, especially when they are at a lake cottage that has been in the family for five generations. Emma and Thomas live in Texas but spend every summer on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee with their family and they just knew it was the perfect place to celebrate their vows.

Emma’s inspiration for the wedding was “magic of the woods”: down to earth, whimsical, rustic but with an element of elegantly sparkling surprise. Their style is colorful, eclectic and vintage. She asked her florist, Mary, of Lotus Floral Design to make the flowers multicolored and burst like wildflowers that had just been picked and place them around the venue in old bottles, boxes styled with antique furniture. Her super model bridesmaids wore dresses that made up the colors of the rainbow and their sweet son Benji joined in the fun with them.

Events by Sorrell worked her magic setting the elegant table settings as well as coordinating the difficult logistics with the small woodsy space. There was an 18 piece swing band that played songs from1930’s adding to the vintage magic.

The day was incredibly hot and humid and by the end of the night guests were happily cooling off in the lake, the perfect end to this incredible wedding.
